The First Methodist Episcopal Church Tulsa was founded in 1886 with just 21 members, becoming the first Methodist church in Indian territory. The physical space has changed since then; the current Gothic cathedral was completed in 1928, and was immediately hailed as "The Protestant Cathedral of the South."
