This year’s ornament was created to honor the City of Tulsa’s Centennial year. The back piece shows the Arkansas river in the center, with the rolling hills of Green Country in the back ground. Above right are the heart shaped leaves of Okahoma’s native Red Bud tree. The very roots of Tulsa are represented by the Native American tepee on the right and a gushing oil derrick on the left, symbolizing Tulsa’s long standing reputation as the “Oil Capitol of the World”. The front piece echoes Tulsa’s roots by depicting the cowboy herding a steer on the left and a native American Bison on the right.
