The Modernaire Drive-In opened on May 24, 1951 with a single screen playing “Oh! Susannah” starring Rod Cameron with a capacity of 700 cars. A second screen was added a year later and it was renamed The Admiral Twin Drive-In. It epitomizes the nostalgic drive-in movie theatres of the past, so much so that it was featured in the Francis Ford Coppola's classic 'The Outsiders' as the 1950s hangout. Located directly off historic Route 66, The Admiral Twin has provided outdoor entertainment to generations of people. After a fire destroyed both original wooden screens in 2010, the theater was rebuilt and opened in 2012 with a steel screen. Other amenities include an updated on-site concession stand and bathrooms.
To clean your coasters, prepare a solution of 3 parts hot water (not boiling) and 1 part bleach. Soak the coasters overnight. Rinse, lay flat with the cork-side up and allow to air dry. This process may be repeated to remove stubborn stains such as coffee, wine and cola.
