After our country's tragic events of 9/11, The Tulsa ornament wanted to honor all of our local heroes – especially our Tulsa firefighters. Fire station No. 5, built in 1917, is Tulsa's oldest fire station still in operation at the original site. It was remodeled in 1932, but still has fire pools to slide down in emergencies. The architectural side is old Spanish colonial, I seen at the top profile, wrought iron balconies under arched windows, and in the terra-cotta tile quote eyebrow" roofs. The front piece shows a hydrant, hose and three Tulsa firefighters in action.
